Today I have ordered Sun Microsystem's T1000 (Niagara) Server for Metservice to try it out as potential replacement for the current infrustructure running PHP websites, Web Services and Application servers, computatitional cluster.

Another contentder is an Intel machine with 2 XEON dual-core Deptsy (?!) processors.
