Why use it?

With Easy Page Blueprint you can be certain that there is a level of consistency in the information that users enter when they create a new page within a space.

Easy Page Blueprint ensures that users always provide information for the page title and the page summary (excerpt). Users are also asked to state any keywords relating to their page content which are automatically converted into labels for the page. Further if configured a per-space drop-down list of categories can be presented to choose from.

These features of the Easy Page Blueprint ensure that all new pages contain the same basic level of information. This consistency of information and label insertion assists with the grouping of pages with similar content, may drive integration with other plugins or allow searches per category.

For some types of spaces, this uniform approach to page structure and content is important to ensure similar pages are viewed together e.g. you may have an internal online idea or suggestion forum, and you would like all ideas or suggestions submitted to have the same basic level of information

Main features

1. The same basic information requested up-front

Users are requested to specify page title, page summary and labels.

This is a direct replacement for Blank Page out-of-the-box template. When promoted within the space Create dialog will have all other blueprints and templates hidden.

Having the user supply a summary up-front that is then automatically converted into an excerpt helps create standardized lists of content using out-of-the-box content-by-label macro with excerpts.

Specifying labels allows cross-linking of content with similar keywords, as well as provides data for other add-ons like WordCloud.

2. Category drop-down

Additionally, if configured per space a list of context-specific categories can be presented.

The selection of the appropriate category from this pre-determined list is automatically converted into a label using pre-space mapping. This can drive integration with other add-ons like SpaceHierarchy or GroupShare.

3. Integration with PageScore and PageStats

If installed within the system PageScore and PageStats macros can be included in the excerpt automatically. This helps enhance list views generated elsewhere using excerpts and provides means to depict and drive user engagement.

How to use it?

Once installed "EasyPage" tab is available to space administrators.

In the default "Global Look & Feel" theme - it will be under Space Tools/Integrations
In the Documentation theme - it will be under Space Admin/Add-Ons in the left panel.

There EasyPage can be enabled per space, and then configured appropriately.
